Sushi Tengoku, Kenshington

Looking for ultimate satisfaction for sushi? This place will definitely fulfill your sushi cravings! Indeed, this is my recent favorite sushi restaurant. Because of the super tiny place, it is recommended that you place a booking prior to the dinner or you will end up waiting for hours in the queue.

These are what I have tried so far:

*Salmon Roll

This delicate sushi rice rolled with fresh salmon and creamy avocado plus homemade mayo is definitely not to be missed. Perfect for big fan of salmon. Simple, nice and most importantly, healthy.

Rate: 4.5/5

*Softshell Crab Roll

Crunchy and flavorsome softshell crabs rolled in rice, tobiko (salmon roe) and cucumber dressed with mayo is indeed another guilty sushi pleasure . Worth to order for sure!

Rate: 4.5/5

*Tempura Roll

I think this is not so special as compared to the salmon and crab roll. Not so much flavor hits I reckon but it is not bad at all. Maybe I am just not a big fan of tempura. Similar to Softshell crab roll, the tempura is rolled together with tobiko, cucumber and mayo.

Rate: 3/5

*Unagi Nigiri

A mound of sushi rice topped with huge and freshly cooked eel. Yummy.

Rate: 4/5

*Aburi Sushi

Clock-wise:Tuna Aburi, Unagi Aburi and Scallop Aburi. In this restaurant, you could ask for any nigiri you want, such as the 'unagi nigiri' above, to be grilled. It absolutely turns the sushi to a whole new dimension of satisfaction. However, it is not stated on the menu, so basically, you have to request it directly to the waiter.

Rate: 4.5/5

Besides sushi, their green tea deserves a big thumb up. Unlike the usual green tea served in other Japanese restaurant, they add roasted rice into the green tea which makes the tea more authentic and the aroma just pops out.
